17 Ways To Drive Traffic To Your Web Site!

There are hundreds of ways in which you can effectively drive traffic to your site.
The better you diversify these ways, the more sources you will receive traffic
from and the less likely you will be affected by some change in rules. Below, I've
listed 17 "clever" ways you can use to generate traffic:

1. Use Google Adwords. Create dozens of different highly-segmented payperclick
advertising campaigns to generate traffic for your website.

2. Change All Site Headers. To maximize the amount of traffic you
generate, change all headers on your site to contain the keyword you are
targeting on that page.

3. Optimize Each Page on Your Site for a Given Keyword. Pick a
keyword that you are optimizing for and integrate it into the text of a given
page. Try to use it at a 1.5% density.

4. Use Banner Networks. A banner network will allow you to receive
impressions for your banner on another site in exchange for giving a
different banner impression on your own site.

5. Use Traffic Exchanges. A traffic exchange will allow you to trade
impressions with other webmasters, similar to a banner network.
Additionally, you can also build up credits by surfing through sites and
generating the impressions yourself.

6. Purchase a Traffic Package. While purchasing the 150,000 "unique
visitors" for package might be a little foolish, there are some types of
buyable traffic that work.

7. Advertise in E-zines. While this method has become somewhat less
popular in recent years, it is still a valid way to direct traffic to your site.
8. Use Overture. This is one way in which you can complement your
advertising through Google Adwords

9. Use Yahoo's Contextual Advertising Program. If you already use
Adwords, creating an account with Yahoo and setting up campaigns will
simply involve duplication of what you already have done.

10. Optimize Titles for Search Engines. Change the titles on each page of
your site to use as few words as possible-along with a your selected
keyword.

11. Make a Paid Submission to Yahoo's Directory. The price is quite hefty,
but many allege that submitting to Yahoo's paid directory will bring in
enough traffic to justify the price.

12. Submit to DMOZ.org. This large, human-edited directory is one of the
fastest tickets into Google. Make sure you get listed here.

13. Submit to Dozens of High-PR (Page Rank) Directories. While this wont
gain you much traffic in the short run, in the long run, it will significantly
boost the amount of search engine traffic you receive.

14. Submit Articles to Directories & Publishers. This is yet another way to
boost the amount of search engine traffic you generate while also gaining
click through traffic, too. Rather than hoping a publisher will pick your
article up from a directory, submit directly to the publishers themselves.

15. Start an Affiliate Program For Your Product/Service. Find and recruit
affiliates and JV partners to promote your website to their list and give at
least 50% commission.

16. Create a Blog. This is an excellent way to add dynamic content to your
site that search engines like to index.

17. "Ping" Your Blog. This will automatically add your blog to all of the top
directories, gaining more backlinks pointing to your site.
